State Representative Edward Vigil (D) was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives in 2008, representing House District 62. For the 2009 legislative session, he served as a member of the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and the House Local Government Committee.

Representative Vigil graduated Adams State College, in Alamosa, with a degree in Business Administration and Sociology. He has served as the Costilla County commissioner, an investigator for the 12th Judicial District DA's office, and as a Detox Specialist and outpatient substance abuse counselor for the San Luis Valley Mental Health Center.

A sixth generation native, Representative Vigil was born and raised in San Pablo near San Luis, Colorado. He currently owns Sangre de Cristo Laboratory with his wife, Evelyn.
